ICAR detuned filter banks are made up with filter inductances when operating on electric systems featuring high harmonic currents (THDi). The filter inductances prevent rapid capacitor decay and resonance involving the MV/LV transformer feeding the system.
To ensure endurance, all ICAR solutions include capacitors whose voltage is higher than line rated voltage:
-FH20 (180Hz blocking frequency) and FH30 (135Hz blocking frequency) families automatic power factor correction banks are made employing high density metallised polypropylene capacitors, nominal voltage 550V
-FD25 (180Hz blocking frequency) family power factor correction banks are made with double metallised paper capacitors, nominal voltage 460V
-FD35 (135Hz resonance) family power factor correction banks are made with double metallised paper capacitors, rated voltage 550V
